The City of Lilburn is accepting applications for Code Enforcement Officer. This position is responsible for enforcement of city codes and ordinances related to construction permitting, planning, zoning, signs, property maintenance, community nuisance, and business licenses. Works with property owners and/or contractors to resolve any code violation issues. Issues notices and citations as necessary; prepares case information and presents evidence at court hearings if necessary. Conducts field and property research and is responsible for associated data entry, case history, and periodic code enforcement status reports. This position reports to the Director of Planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, or G.E.D., supplemented with two (2) years of code enforcement experience, preferably with a city or county government; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
Must successfully pass a criminal, driving, and work history background investigation.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Valid Georgia Driver’s License: Applicant must provide current Motor Vehicle Report for the past 7 years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain the appropriate state certification such as those offered by the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) – Level I Certificate.
