Starting Pay:  Position is considered hourly with a starting salary between $21.81 and $27.27 per hour with excellent benefits


The beautiful City of Milton is looking for a highly qualified individual to serve as our Executive Aide.

This position is responsible for administrative work providing professional level assistance to the Mayor, City Council, and Executive Staff. This position provides customer service, facilitates scheduling for multiple individuals, and coordinates communications of Mayor and Council. The Executive Aide will be expected to handle sensitive and delicate public relations situations with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. 


Typical duties include:

  • Plans and prioritizes the scheduling/calendar of items for the Mayor, City Council and City Manager.  Must possess the ability to plan, prepare, and deliver information in an effective and judicious manner.  Requires interaction with both internal and external executives and assistances, as well as consultants, to coordinate a variety of complex meetings.
  • Answers incoming phone lines to City, responds to questions, and transfers calls to staff.  Plans and controls systems to allow proper backup to answer incoming calls.
  • Researches requests and complaints and responds in person, by telephone, and in writing in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Prepares, edits and/or reviews correspondence from the Mayor, City Council, and senior staff to citizens or citizen groups. Prepares and reviews agenda items and ensures proper process of agenda items from Mayor and City Council to the City Clerk’s office.
  • Independently prepares detailed reports, memoranda, correspondence, minutes, and maintains official records. Develops reports based on research findings.
  • Will be responsible for assuming City Clerk responsibilities in the absence of the Clerk.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:   


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Public Administration, or closely related field.  Two years of related experience, or any combination of education, training and experience to meet the above stated requirements will be considered.
