The City of Villa Rica, GA is recruiting for a City Engineer.  The City Engineer is responsible for reviewing land development plans, assisting with the design of public infrastructure projects, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments on engineering related issues. 

The City Engineer will spend most of their time working with the development community and city staff to manage the development process for private residential and commercial development projects and provide project management support and oversight to city-wide capital project planning and implementation. 

Over the past few years, the City has seen renewed interest in building in Villa Rica and an explosive growth of residential projects.

The City of Villa Rica straddles both Carroll County and Douglas County is located about 30 miles from Atlanta.  Villa Rica has become a favored destination for families and businesses.  The City has a historic downtown, an noteworthy history and a desire for well-planned infrastructure and development.

The City has approximately 193 full and part-time employees across eleven departments.  The FY 2023-24 General Fund budget is over $20Mand this full-service municipality provides its residents with a full array of services to meet the needs of the community, including a water sewer system.

The position requires the successful candidate to meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.  Master’s degree preferred.

 

• Georgia Professional Engineer Certification required at the time of hire – for out of State candidates, a Georgia certification within 6 months of hire.

Target salary is $125,000.
