This position is responsible for the general enforcement of local ordinances. The primary job duties entail receiving and resolving complaints, identifying and correcting violations, issuing citations, and maintaining records of code enforcement activity and complaints. This position will also provide enforcement support to building inspections and erosion and sedimentation control compliance staff. Additional duties shall be assigned by the Planning and Development Director. Some infrequent night and weekend work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate; Competency in the use of a personal computer and smartphone, specifically Microsoft Office applications; Previous experience and/or training involving code enforcement or law enforcement preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Must have the ability to be bonded, pass background check and drug testing.
