Job Title: Collection and Distribution Manager
Job Summary: Directs the operation, maintenance and repair of the Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System, including but not limited to the correction of system problems such as line failures and emergencies. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Utilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an outdoor environment. The position generally involves continuous sitting; frequent standing; frequent walking; light to moderate lifting; light carrying; frequent bending and reaching; and administrative functions.
May require an irregular work schedule.
Performs and reviews interior and exterior work locations that involve hazardous environments requiring protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, odors, chemicals and noise. May be required to work in confined spaces, on ladders and rooftops, and in adverse weather conditions.
Specific physical conditions require frequent work with chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts etc.
Required to direct on-site personnel with less experience and/or tenure with specific projects. Manage vendors and subcontractors.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Five years’ experience in the water distribution and wastewater collection industry, and a minimum of two years’ experience as a foreman or supervisor. Must have, or be able to obtain a State of Georgia Distribution Certification License and Wastewater Collection System License within 12 months of employment.
