POSITION TITLE: Temporary Site Technician FY 21-88

DEPARTMENT: Public Works- Solid Waste

ENTRY SALARY: $11.06 per hour, NO BENEFITS

JOB SUMMARY: This position performs routine labor tasks to maintain the solid waste and recycling area, bins and Convenience Centers for the citizen’s use in Walton County. It provides assistance to customers and monitors recyclable material and waste disposal amounts. Performs routine tasks to operate and maintain the solid waste and recycling area, bins and Convenience Centers for the County; ensures gates are opened and closed as scheduled; receives and properly locates or disposes of waste and recyclables. Operates a waste disposal compactor to control compaction at the solid waste facility. Assists in coordinating the “Green Bag” program for the department; ensures proper materials are in Green Bags when they are returned. Provides assistance and information to residents and customers. Assists in maintaining the upkeep of the site; performs all tasks within the established safety guidelines and policies. Completes related forms, records and documents. Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
