The Putnam County Tax Commissioner is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Delinquent Tax Collections.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, dealing with issues concerning collection of delinquent taxes, oversight of tax sales, receiving payments for property taxes, bankruptcies, tax liens, returned checks, petitions for years support, processing tags and titles, and resolution of various customer issues.
Applicants must have the highest ethical standards. Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills are required. Qualified applicants must have critical thinking skills, sound judgment when faced with complex issues, strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and effective organization and prioritization skills. Computer, verbal, and written communication skills are a must. Experience with MS Excel and Word are preferred. A background in collections and/or enforcement, or prior equivalent experience working in a related field are preferred.
Applicants must be able to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license. Applicant must meet the requirements to be a notary public. Salary will be based on prior experience and qualifications.
