COUNTY MANAGER VACANCY

Salary Range:  Base pay is $110,000 and may be negotiable depending on qualifications.

The Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners is currently accepting applications for the County Manager position.  The current County Manager is retiring after 16 years in the position, and is leaving an established, financially stable, and highly professional organization serving this beautiful county located in the northeast Georgia mountains. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The County Manager is employed at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners to serve as the chief administrative officer of the county and is thus the liaison between the Board of Commissioners and the department heads, constitutional officers, and other offices responsible for local government services within the guidelines of the Lumpkin County Ordinances, policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The County Manager directs the county’s organizational, operational, management, budget, and administrative operations and activities by providing oversight for all department heads and county offices.  The manager plans, directs, and controls the operations and activities of all county employees who report to and through this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree with at least four years’ relevant experience in a related occupational field sufficient to perform the principal duties and responsibilities of the position successfully.

Master’s degree preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Proven skills in personnel management, administration, infrastructure planning and improvement, innovative problem solving, financial management, administration processes, and interpersonal skills.
