Duties are routine in nature.  Mowing, edging, trimming, raking, and spreading fertilizer at city parks, fields and golf course.  Building tee boxes.  Assisting in the maintenance of the irrigation systems. Pulling golf carts to shop area.  Perform related duties. 

Qualifications

Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. Possession a valid Georgia driver’s license. Knowledge and skill in the basic methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance activities. Knowledge of mowing, shrub, hedge and tree pruning procedures and techniques. Skill in safely operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools. Skill in safely operating a golf cart. Skill in performing manual labor functions. Skill in communicating effectively with others. On the job training available, six (6) months of work related experience a plus.

Miscellaneous Information

Work is performed while standing, stooping, bending, crouching or walking. Lift light and heavy objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to cold or inclement weather, noise, dust, dirt, grease and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as goggles or gloves.
