Salary: $73,131.00 annually
Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to administer the daily operations of a unit within the Office of the Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts. Responsibilities include assisting with general management and oversight of the Treasury Division-related departmental functions, assisting in developing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing work of assigned staff, and serving as the principal advisor to the Chief Deputy Clerk. Assistant Chief Deputy Clerk is also responsible for managing the Treasury division in his/her absence.
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably a master’s degree) in business, public administration, finance, treasury, accounting or a related field required, supplemented by four (4) years of financial professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Reconciliation and Audit; including (3) years of experience supervising staff in a division or multiple work units within a public or private sector organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform requisite duties of the job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Affirmation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court. Certification in one or more of the following is preferred, Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Certified Management Account (CMA), Local Finance Officer (LFO), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Same related fields are required as for the Chief Deputy Clerk with the Administration assignment.
