The Fire Chief is responsible for the management and leadership of the Fire and EMS Division as well as 911 Communications which is a joint responsibility with the West Point Police Department. The division has one station, 17 fire and EMS personnel and six 911 communications personnel, 3 Engines, 1 ladder/tower and 2 ambulances. The division has a $1.4 million budget, responds on average to 330 fire responses and 1225 EMS call per year and has an ISO rating of 3.
The City of West Point is looking for a dedicated, focused, innovative leader who excels in the areas of communication, team building, general operational management, and emergency management. A minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience, bachelor’s degree is preferred, certifications in both Fire and EMS to meet NFPA and Georgia Firefighter standards and state EMS certification. The city offers a generous benefits package, and the salary range is $62,600 to $94,900.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
