The Butts County Commissioners Office is seeking applicants for the position of Purchasing & Procurement Specialist/Project Manager.

This full-time position will administer a centralized purchasing program for procurement of goods and services within the Finance and Purchasing policy adopted by the Butts County Board of Commissioners and will also serve as Project Manager to provide administrative work necessary to effectively ensure compliance with applicable fund administration and reporting requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to: Developing and ensuring adherence to purchasing policies and procedures; ensures goods and services are received in a timely manner; structures solicitations and contracts to obtain the best value for the county by balancing such factors as price, quality, and risk; develops and implements bid proposals and opening procedures.


Manages project funds; develops and maintains reports for financial analysis; reads, researches, and interprets regulations regarding project conditions and allowable procedures; provides consultation and policy interpretation to staff; collects and interprets data throughout the course of projects to ensure compliance; complies with all internal and external reporting requirements of projects.


Minimum Training and Experience: Must have graduated from high school and be familiar with accounting practices and software. Experience in purchasing/procurement/fund management preferred.
