JOB STATUS: Full-Time

SHIFT: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday

SALARY:  $21.29

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Municipal Government Complex, other city buildings and parks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Replace light bulbs (over 500 and over 300 ballast to replace as they go out)
  • Maintain 15 heat pumps from 4-ton to 15-ton units including belts, motors, filters, and drains cleared out. The remainder of the work is done by a licensed HVAC company.
  • Maintain toilets and urinals (23) and kitchen equipment and replace as needed.
  • Maintain the phone in the elevator and the sump pump under the elevator. The remainder of the work is performed by an elevator company.
  • Replace ceiling tiles at Municipal Government Complex.
  • Maintain fire sprinkler inspection yearly and the backflows.
  • Maintain generator as needed.
  • Set up Council Chamber for Council meetings and other programs as needed.
  • Maintain equipment at City Parks.
  • Maintain underground fuel tanks (two 10,000 and one 600 gallon).  Must have Class A and B certification or able to obtain certification.
  • Order custodial supplies for City Hall.
  • Supervise maintenance of City Hall Courtyard by contractor.
  • Performs various tasks involving building maintenance projects; paints interior/exterior surfaces and equipment; repair/replaces building fixtures or door locks; assembles furniture or equipment; lifts/moves equipment and heavy materials.
  • Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other paperwork.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

May require lifting up to 100 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualifications:

Operation of motor vehicles requires possession and maintenance of a valid Georgia driver’s license.

The successful candidate must complete a Background/Reference Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening prior to the start of employment.
