The City of Savannah Special Events, Film & Tourism Department. seeks a highly qualified Tourism Management Coordinator who is customer-service focused and industrious. Our ideal candidate is an efficient, dynamic, and cooperative individual who can perform well while juggling multiple tasks with little to no direct supervision. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clerical duties to help keep the office running smoothly.

As the Film Services Coordinator you will assist in the coordination and marketing of the city as a location for media products.

  • Serves as liaison to and coordinates the activities of production companies with the city, local businesses, government agencies, and the general public; enforces city ordinances.
  • Responds to requests for information regarding permitting of film and media projects.
  • Provides customer service by responding to public and agency inquiries by phone and in the office.
  • Provides information regarding permit policies and application procedures.
  • Interprets and knows various City codes for members of the public, including filming codes and requirements, traffic regulations, parking requirements and security needs.
  • Works cooperatively with other City Departments, property owners, production companies, location scouts, or their representatives to resolve questions regarding permit issuance and permit fees.
  • Serves as a liaison to area film schools and provides location and permit assistance to students.
  • Attends special events to represent the department.
  • Tracks productions and production spending and prepares impact reports.
  • Monitors production activity.
  • Maintains files and records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Film and Television or Business Administration plus one year of experience in film, production management or media related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong written and oral communications skills required. Experience developing computer generated presentations, editing and producing publications preferred. Must have some supervisory experience. A valid driver's license is required.

Work Location: 1 Waring Drive  Work Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. 

Knowledge of city budgetary and purchasing procedures.
Knowledge of the principles of marketing and public relations.
Knowledge of the television and motion picture industries.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of computers and other modern office equipment.
