The Executive Director of Programs for Exceptional Students (PES) provides leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating a full continuum of educational services for students with disabilities for the Muscogee County School District. The role provides information and serves as a resource to others while serving as a member of the district leadership team.
The Executive Director of Programs for Exceptional Students (PES) serves as a resource for parents/legal guardians, principals, psychologists, and teachers regarding a variety of needs and issues related to disabilities and ensuring proper placement of students with disabilities. The Executive Director also serves as a resource for the State Department ensuring that all state and federal regulations are followed in carrying out services for disabled students. To be successful in this role, you need to be collaborative and comfortable working on a team while strategically developing strategies to meet the needs of short and long-term goal planning related to the Programs for Exceptional Students. This role will be forward-facing and embrace building relationships throughout Columbus but across Georgia as well.
