Listing Summary

The City of Lilburn is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Stormwater Specialist.  This position performs technical, office and field work involving compliance with the City of Lilburn Environment Ordinances, City’s Stormwater Management Plan, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit and the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permit for both public and private development projects to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements and maintain coordination as part of the Gwinnett Stormwater Utility.  Also performs pre-construction plan review of all water related issues. 

Knowledge of Natural Resources, Stream Buffers, Floodplains, Wetlands, and BMP’s for Land Disturbance/Erosion Sedimentation and Pollution Control, Construction site inspection requirements, post-construction stormwater management program, and City/County’s Stormwater pollution prevention programs and initiatives. 

This position reports to the Director of Planning and interacts with other City and County personnel, State agencies, contractors, utility companies, consulting engineers, developers, and the general public to coordinate work activities, review status of work, and resolve problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Two (2) years Stormwater Management experience. Prefer experience in Stormwater management plan preparation or review and storm drainage and BMP construction according to GA State Manual and Gwinnett County Storm Water Design Manual.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Level IB Certified Inspector
Level II Plan Reviewer certified
CEPSCI (Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector)
CSPR (Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer) or other relative certifications
