Administrative Support Associate IV - Planning and Development


Listing Summary

The mission of Gwinnett County’s Department of Planning and Development is to plan, preserve, and build a healthy community through continuous engagement and superior customer care. The Department consists of the following divisions: Housing and Community Development, Code Enforcement, Administration, Planning, Development, and Building. 
The Administrative Support Associate for the Housing and Community Development Section is responsible for providing daily support to a team that administers funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and other sources. The position makes a positive impact on Gwinnett County by supporting the team’s efforts to identify, obtain, and manage grant funds that support affordable housing, home ownership, small businesses, and other community needs. This position reports directly to the Division Director.
Other essential duties include:

  • Providing administrative support for the Housing and Community Development Division, to include the Division Director and Section Managers
  • Managing service requests and questions received from residents and other parties by phone, email, and in-person regarding Housing and Community Development initiatives
  • Monitoring office supply levels and managing purchases for the Division
  • Coordinating with other divisions and departments, as needed, to assist with service requests and questions
  • Overseeing projects which includes gathering information, conducting research, scheduling meetings, establishing contacts, and preparing correspondence and reports
  • Monitoring and managing the completion of all open records requests

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Up to one year of specialized or technical training in administrative support or related field;
  • Five years of administrative support or related office experience;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
