Reporting to the County Manager, the Fire Chief is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all programs, operations, and activities of the Fire Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, or closely related field; Master’s degree preferred; supplemented by vocational/technical training in firefighting and basic emergency medical care; supplemented by ten (10) years previous experience and/or training that includes management of a similar-sized Fire/EMS department, progressively responsible fire administration, fire company management, firefighting, fire truck/equipment operation, hazardous materials incident response, emergency medical services, fire investigation, budget administration, and management. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a valid Georgia Certified Fire Fighter certification.
