This position provides administrative and clerical support for the day-to-day operations of the Juvenile Court. Gathers, reviews, and compiles juvenile data, including names, birth dates, addresses, parents, etc. Prepares and issues court orders; dockets complaints, motions, and petitions; prepares calendars of cases to be called. Examines legal documents submitted to the court for accuracy and completeness. Prepares and marks applicable court exhibits; collects court fees or fines and records collected amounts; runs monthly and end-of-year reports; records and prints court proceedings. Answers inquiries from the general public concerning judicial proceedings, court appearances, summonses, subpoenas, etc. Maintains files and records. Completes a variety of regular and special reports. Provides professional, administrative, and technical assistance to Judge, other court officials, departments, attorneys, and agencies such as DFCS. Schedules hearings, checks attorney’s availability, requests court reporter or translator when needed, sends out notices to parties involved, and prepares case files for court. Coordinates the set up court, places files in scheduled order, sets up recording system and Zoom when needed, takes court notes, verifies information with parties, and updates any changes in JCATS and calendars. Reviews various documents from attorneys related to the court including leave of absences and conflicts, reschedules hearings if needed, prepares Order of Continuance, and sends out to all parties. Handles emergency issue after work hours, receives texts, emails, etc. in regards to removal of child, setting hearing for 72PPH (if hearing needs to be set next day), and information in regards to parent’s status if they are in jail, death, etc. Assists with reviewing and checking attorney’s billing for payment. Conducts special projects for the court systems including strategic planning of court files. Performs related duties.p >
