Middle Georgia Regional Commission, Area Agency on Aging, Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of ADRC Counselor.  This position is responsible for conducting individual counseling sessions, conducting telephone assessments for in-home services, offering options counseling to individuals and/or their families, providing advocacy assistance, benefits counseling related to public and private social service programs, and for identifying the needs of individuals and referring them to other appropriate resources.  This position requires a talented individual who can engage collaboratively in a professional, resourceful, trustworthy, accountable, efficient, and innovative manner.

The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual who can engage effectively with coworkers and community members in the process of providing quality customer service. Qualified applicants should, at a minimum, have a Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field with two years of human service related experience, or have an active RN license for Georgia with two (2) years long-term care experience.  Applicants must have the ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with persons with disabilities; home and community-based service providers; the general public; local government, state government, and the Aging Network.  Additional skill sets required include: knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; local community resources; Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care Medicaid Waiver programs.
