Middle Georgia Regional Commission is seeking to fill the position of Government Services Specialist. A Government Services Specialist is responsible for assisting local governments in areas of community planning, economic development, local laws and ordinances, hazard mitigation, personnel management, environmental issues, transportation, historic preservation, and grant preparation and administration. This position requires a talented individual who can engage collaboratively with local governments in a professional, resourceful, trustworthy, accountable, efficient, and innovative manner.

 

Qualified applicants should, at a minimum, have a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning or related field from an accredited college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge or experience in transportation planning and mobility management is a plus.  A master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy or Urban Planning is preferred.

Candidates should possess a strong vision and desire for facilitating positive change that moves the region forward. A candidate must be able to address challenges with enthusiasm and positive energy that demonstrates a love for the work of growing and improving communities.

 

Middle Georgia Regional Commission provides services to 11 counties and 20 cities in Middle Georgia through its office located in Macon, Georgia.
