POSITION SUMMARY: The essential function of the Planning and Zoning Technician is to provide advanced technical, clerical, and organizational support to the Planning and Zoning Department. The position is responsible for providing customer service in person and via telephone, performing clerical functions, and coordinating with other departmental/agency personnel. In addition, the Technician is responsible for attending Public Hearings and transcribing minutes for Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. Work is performed under the general direction of the Zoning Manager.
Education and Experience: High school education or equivalent. Two years of experience in secretarial or clerical work. Experience in Planning and/ or Zoning, building or development plans, permits and/ or survey plats is preferred. Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is acceptable.
Salary: $44,000-48,000 with competitive benefits.
