The City of Fairmount is currently accepting applications for full and part time police officers. Fairmount is a down to earth community of about 750 residents in northwest Georgia. The residents of Fairmount love their officers, and we love our citizens. Join a neighborhood and leave the city behind. We offer a competitive compensation package which includes:

• Starting annual pay of $37,060 for non-ranking POST certified officers.
• Take-home car program with a 35-mile radius from the city limit.
• City-paid medical, dental, and vision for the employee, with optional family coverage.
• City-paid POAB dues
• 11 paid holidays (12 hours per holiday)
• 5 days of vacation, 10 days of sick per year (12-hour days)
• Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am. Shift assignments are awarded based on seniority.
• Modern, slick-top fleet with up-to-date equipment including GCIC terminals, hot spots, ticket printers, and radars.
• Issued equipment including outer carrier body armor, Gen 4 9mm Glocks, Taser X2’s, Colt AR-15’s for qualified officers, body cameras, class A and B uniforms, etc.
