JOB SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for maintaining the ‘Pace of Play’ around the golf course in the most professional and courteous of manners. The Golf Course Attendant is the ‘eyes and ears’ on the golf course. This position is responsible for monitoring and reporting any rules violations to the Pro Shop.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greets customers on the first tee
  • Make sure that golfers are ready to play on time and tee off on time
  • Keeps groups spaced apart the correct amount so that the pace of play can move along; allows for the Pro Shop to sell through the maximum amount of inventory
  • Informs customers of any special rules, procedures, and weather policies for that day
  • Ensure that all customers have paid prior to play and document their golf car number
  • Drives the course loop in reverse order
  • Reports issues to the golf shop
  • Continues to monitor pace of play and make adjustments as needed if groups become too spread-out
  • Keeps work area neat, tidy, and free of any safety hazards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, standard operating practices for golf courses and specifically West Pines Golf Club
  • Ability to use simple hand tools;
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal job assignments and/or crew assignments;
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis;
  • Ability to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, manipulating and heavy lifting of equipment.
  • Ability to display a positive attitude, outgoing personality, and eagerness to serve our customers
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is light to moderate heavy work and requires some balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Incumbent works in an environment with some heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to co-workers or others.
