This position is responsible for providing patient care, collecting the proper documentation for each patient encounter, and collecting information for billing company.
Major duties include but are not limited to fill out reports for patient care, prepare patient care documentation, responds to emergency scene and transports to hospitals, maintains operational readiness of vehicle and equipment, station duties, works with members of other organizations/departments. Territorial knowledge and training. Community outreach. Ensures cleanliness of vehicle and equipment. Participates in continuing education, equipment training, and policy/procedure training. Participates in skill assessments and training. Technical Rescue Operations.
Knowledge required by the position; knowledge of statutes, laws, policies, and protocols; knowledge of anatomy and physiology; knowledge of computers and job-related software; knowledge of specialized equipment and drug administration, within a scope of practice; knowledge of medical information; skill in oral and written communication; skill in interpersonal relations.
The work is typically performed while intermittently bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts heavy objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes a sense of smell. The work is typically performed in a noisy place, and occasionally outdoors in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, and grease, machinery with moving parts, and contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. Work requires use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; and more than two years of related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain appropriate state EMS certification. EMT-Intermediate, EMT - A, CPR.
