The City of Fayetteville, GA is recruiting for an Economic Development Director. The Economic Development Director is responsible for the management and execution of the City’s economic development objectives and working towards improving the prosperity and health of the downtown area.
The City of Fayetteville is in Fayette County, located 30 miles south of Atlanta.
The City is anchored by a historic and vibrant downtown with successful retail and restaurants. The community is fast growing and is developing diverse housing, is a part of the successful Fayette County School District and is a safe and inviting place for families. Fayetteville is an engaged community, providing every amenity you would expect from a premier community in metro Atlanta.
The City has 180 employees across 10 departments. The FY 2024 General Fund budget is over $25M and this full-service city provides its residents with a full slate of traditional government services.
The City is in the process of considering various reporting structures for the Economic Development Director. This position may become a direct report of the City Manager. The Director will have the opportunity to craft a strategic plan for economic development and ultimately will be encouraged to grow their own team.

The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000.
