PRESIDENT, MOULTRIE COLQUITT COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

 

The Moultrie/Colquitt County Development Authority (MCCDA)is accepting applications for President.

Strategically positioned as the most diverse agricultural county in Georgia, Colquitt County has a population of approximately 46,000. A progressive school system and technical college along with a financially strong local hospital support partnerships for the future growth of this 557 square mile southwest Georgia county. Moultrie is the county seat and largest city in Colquitt County. The Downtown Commercial Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a center of commerce and community-wide activities. Moultrie/Colquitt County has developed a diversified economy including Sanderson Farms, Maule Air, National Beef, Universal Forest Products, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Icehouse America, Cavco Industries, Destiny Industries, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and more.

About the Organization

MCCDA is governed by an eleven-member board appointed by the city and county governments, and is responsible for the economic development of Colquitt County and the seven municipalities within the county.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will have a dedication to Moultrie/ Colquitt County and will strive to create quality jobs, increase the tax base and market Moultrie and Colquitt County to further create opportunities for its citizens. The continued development of local, regional and state relationships within the development community and with other industrial developers are required.  A focus on supporting existing business will be a high priority.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of progressive and successful experience in an economic development field or related area is required.  A desire to be involved in the community and related activites is essential to the President’s success.  Applicants should provide evidence of leadership in managing change. In addition, the successful candidate will possess a strong ethical compass, an ability to communicate vision as well as the ability to work within a board environment. Core skills include financial expertise, including experience with the budgeting process, trend assessment and forecasting; communication skills (both oral and written); and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree and an exceptional combination of education and experience in economic development.

Compensation

The MCCDA offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $150,000, depending on education, experience, and training. Additionally, the Authority offers a retirement plan. A full range of leave, insurance benefits and other benefits are provided.
