The City of Pembroke Public Safety Department is accepting applications for a full-time, entry-level Georgia P.O.S.T Certified School Resource Officer (SRO). Minimum requirements: high school graduate or equivalent; possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license; ability to meet current requirements set forth in the Georgia Mandated Law Enforcement Training Act/POST, possession, or ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification, and must be SRO certified.  Must be 21 years of age or older.  Must also be able to pass an extensive background investigation, psychological exam, and polygraph exam.  Must take and pass a drug screening.  Must be able to work overtime as necessary.  English language preferred; bilingual ability a plus.  Starting pay $18.00/hour with generous benefit plan.

 

The primary responsibility of a School Resource Officer is to protect life and property, preserve law and order, and keep the peace. Collaboration with school and community leaders as a resource for safety and security issues. We promote safety and wellbeing through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the City of Pembroke and working in collaboration with the Bryan County Board of Education.  A School Resource Officer is responsible for working school events.
