Listing Summary

The Superior Court of Clerks is seeking to fill the position of Court Clerk. The Court Clerk position is responsible for performing clerical duties in support of the Bibb County Superior Court Clerk’s office whose mission it is to act as custodian of court and land records.

Education, Training and Experience:

High school or GED with a minimum of (1) year in office functions or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Must be able to type 30 wpm and pass basic skills test.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers telephones, routes calls, takes messages, files cases and records.
  • Assists customers, responds to questions and requests from the public.
  • Accepts cases and legal documents for filing from public and attorneys.
  • Prepares subpoenas.
  • Research real estate filings and plats, divorce files, and other records.
  • Prepares folders for new cases; records case dispositions in minute book and files same.
  • Maintains records of files checked out by court personnel.
  • Certifies court documents, issues Notary Public certificates.
  • Processes mail outs of real estate recordings.
  • Process UCC documents.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records.
  • Technology troubleshooting.
  • Record retention and log maintenance.
  • Resource person for maintenance request.
  • Coordinate with all departments Civil, Criminal, Court Management, and Real Estate.
  • Prepares labels for Civil and Court Management.
  • Prepares PT-61 for Real Estate.
  • Process payments in the form of cash, card, or checks.
  • Process look ups by phone, mail and in person.
  • File folders in the basket and handout work daily.
  • Prepares labels for Civil department and Court Management.
  • Process Sheriff’s Entry of Service for Civil Department.
  • Assist customers with E-filing Civil cases at kiosk.
  • Other duties as assigned.
