Macon Bibb County State Court is seeking to fill the position of Court Specialist for the Criminal Division.The Court Specialist (Criminal) is the link between the administration of the Clerk’s Office and the operations of the Clerk’s Office as to criminal cases.  

 Education, Training and Experience:

The Court Specialist should possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely entry of criminal filings into the case management system.
  • Performs record checks for Armed Services, i.e, (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and National Guard), the general public and nationwide law enforcement agencies as requested via telephone, mail, fax or personal appearance.
  • Assists and greets the public in a professional and courteous manner with daily needs such as requests for copies and other information pertaining to Criminal files, certifying court documents, etc.
  • Assists attorneys and the general public with questions and/or instructions.
  • Computer maintenance of criminal cases passing through the State Court of Bibb County.
  • Responsible for computer entry of information sheets furnished by Solicitor’s Office for Criminal cases into case management system.
  • Entry of Accusations filed by Solicitor’s Office on Criminal cases and scanning original document into case management system for entry of record.
  • Entry and scanning of pertinent documents taken in court.
  • Responsible for returning files to appropriate personnel for entry of citation information for proper transmittal of charge information to DDS.
  • Provides assistance to other personnel with entry of final dispositions of Criminal cases affecting criminal history of individuals with the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC).
  • Entry of and scan Bench Warrants on case management system for Probation and Solicitor’s use.
  • Entry of and scan recalled Bench Warrants on eCourt.
  • Communicates with the Law Enforcement Center regarding terms of bonds and releases.
  • Prepares and generates publications for DUI cases.
  • Prepares and generates Criminal Fifas to be recorded in Superior Court of Bibb County.
  • Assists bonding companies with dispositions on outstanding cases via telephone and email.
  • Efficiently closes out Nolle Prossed Orders and assists with transmittal to GCIC. 
  • Works to build an effective smooth operation of the State Court of Bibb County through Customer Service relationship as it relates to the general public, State Court Clerks’ Office, State Court Probation Office, Court Bailiffs and the Solicitor General’s Office of Bibb County.
  • Works closely with all co-workers and the general public to ensure the smooth efficient operation of the State Court Clerks’ Office and offers assistance readily, when needed.
  • Completion of all request and tasks as directed by the Judge, the Clerk and the Chief Deputy Clerk.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
