Salary: $62,466 Annually DOQ

Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist with selection of and train newly hired Firefighters, and provides ongoing training for incumbent firefighters. The position is responsible for developing and presenting professional development training, technical training in compliance with state and national standards, developing training schedules, preparing required reports, assessing firefighters, preparing performance evaluation reports, performing related administrative and clerical tasks.  This position will also act as the department Health and Safety Officer. This position works independently, reporting to the Division Chief of Operations/Training.

Job Requirements:
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree from an accredited college in the field of Fire Science, EMS Technology, or other related course of study or knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work. Minimum of five (5) years career experience with a Full Time Department; Georgia State Certified EMT-I or Higher; Georgia State Firefighter's Certification and NPQ FF II; NPQ Fire Officer II and Fire Instructor II; NPQ Hazardous Materials Operations; NPQ AOPP & AOPL; NIMS 100-400; Structural Fire Control Live Fire Instructor; Pressurized Container Live Fire Instructor; Incident Safety Officer; NPQ Evaluator; VFIS Drivers Training Instructor (Shall obtain within one year of hire date); Valid class E or F Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), along with the ability to obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia. Applicant must pass a background check and drug screening and must meet all in-house career matrix and testing requirements
