Sumter County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking a Finance Specialist. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $32,065.28 to $36,278.92.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Specialist will be responsible for providing complex or specialized financial, statistical, and accounting office support for general accounting functions for the Sumter County Board of Commissioners.
MAJOR DUTIES
The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required or assigned.
Process bi-weekly payroll, balances and closes monthly payroll.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable,
Reconciles bank statements.
Processes quarterly taxes.
Processes and distributes budget reports.
Maintains department files and records.
Processes journal entries and prepares monthly defined benefits reports.
Prepares bank deposits.
Performs asset and inventory control duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one to two years of experience in a professional accounting position.
Possession of a High school Diploma or GED Equivalency; Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license.
