FLSA STATUS: Exempt - Executive

CLASSIFICATION: Personnel System; requires satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period.

PAY GRADE: 117  $49,939 Annually

SAFETY SENSITIVE: Yes; subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance. 

 

Purpose of Job

The purpose of this job is to perform mechanical/specialty work functions associated with the operation and maintenance of water reclamation systems and mechanical equipment. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising work of assigned crew; repairing, maintaining and operating pumps, wells and motors; performing preventive maintenance activities; performing carpentry, welding, plumbing and concrete finishing tasks; performing manual work activities; maintaining records; and performing additional tasks as assigned.
 

Job Related Requirements

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, may require after hour and weekend work on occasion. 
 

May be required to work on religious holidays.
 

Regular and predictable attendance is required.
 

Must work cooperatively with others.
 

When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.

Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

High school diploma or equivalent, with five years of training in Mechanics, Pump Maintenance, chains, conveyor belts, electrical, Water Reclamation or related systems and experience in wastewater systems maintenance, pump maintenance, or other mechanical operations/maintenance experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
 

One year supervisory experience required.
 

Must possess a valid driver's license.
