Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Economic Leadership: Lead the charge in developing and executing strategic plans to attract new businesses, nurture existing ones, and revitalize commercial spaces.

Goal-Oriented Execution: Translate our Strategic Plan objectives into actionable initiatives that yield measurable results, driving our city toward economic success.

Business Development and Support: Innovate programs to support retention, expansion, and attraction, fostering a vibrant economic ecosystem.

Research and Analysis: Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making, conducting thorough research to guide policy recommendations and city management strategies.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business leaders, local organizations, and government entities to foster collaboration and unity in achieving economic goals.

Marketing and Communication: Lead impactful marketing efforts to promote our economic development initiatives, ensuring visibility and understanding within the community and business sectors.

Regulatory and Policy Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of relevant regulations and policies, ensuring compliance and facilitating project execution.

Real Estate and Development Insight: Manage development opportunities and collaborate with departments to identify and promote sites for business investment.

Incentive and Funding Acumen: Stay informed about incentive programs and funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals to attract investment.

Public Engagement and Advocacy: Champion economic development through public speaking, presentations, and community involvement, advocating for our city's economic interests at every opportunity.

Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Stay updated on economic development trends and innovations, ensuring our strategies remain cutting-edge and effective.


Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

Six (6) years of experience in economic development or municipal government administration.

Certification from relevant economic development organizations is preferred.

About this Position:

This position reports directly to the City Manager and has no direct reports but is a member of the department head leadership team. This position will require a lot of community engagement with local businesses that will lead to many meetings outside of the office.
