Job Title: Senior Tax and Tag Specialist
Department: Dawson County Tax Commissioner
Salary: $15.54- $17.13 Hourly/DOQ
Status: Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for a range of clerical and accounting duties in the operation of the County Tax Office. The work involves performing cashier duties; collecting and posting to appropriate accounts, taxes, fees and other monies paid to the County.
Job Requirements:
Applicant must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of two years’ experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of a related apprenticeship/internship. Applicant must have the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations; have an understanding of modern office equipment; and strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be able to read and understand the Georgia Law code associated with Motor Vehicles and Property Tax. Individual should be able to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner and provide good customer service. Some travel for training may be required. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and have no adverse driving records or felony conviction, and must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
