The Coastal Regional Commission (CRC) is seeking a qualified candidate for an Assistant Director in the Transportation Department that covers ten counties in the Coastal Region. A degree in Management, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years in a management role in this or a related field may substitute for education. 
Comprehensive knowledge of public transportation systems/programs and operations, familiarity with human service programs, to include state and federal funding, transit legislation, and Six Sigma or Lean process improvement experience are a plus. Strong decision making, managing budgets and contracts, reading, preparing and evaluating proposals (RFPs) experience required.
The position is responsible for assisting in managing a diverse staff of 70+ admin support, dispatchers, and drivers. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to establish relationships of trust with internal and external stakeholders. Possessing strong emotional intelligence, a solid ethical foundation, a vision for the future (strategic planning), the ability to develop and promote a diverse and productive work force environment is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent fringe benefits and a competitive salary
