Facilities Maintenance Department is looking for a motivated, skilled maintenance professional to ensure safe and well-maintained facilities for the City of Newnan! We offer a rich team environment that allows our personnel to showcase their talents and skills, while taking care of the needs of the citizens and staff of the City of Newnan.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical problems to determine corrective action by reviewing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Ability to work from a boom lift, platform lift and aerial bucket truck to perform tasks, at times with heights of 25 ft or higher.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Change out filters on HVAC units.
• Reclaim, vacuum and charge HVAC units to manufacture specifications.
• Replace components in lighting fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and repair fluorescent, HID, LED lighting systems.
• Replace electrical switches and receptacles.
• Repair and replace restroom fixtures and partitions.
• Replace and repair door locks, mortise, strikers, hinges, and all components of doors.
• Troubleshoot low voltage access control components at doors.

Required Skills:

• Experience as an electrician/electrician helper, HVAC Tech/HVAC helper for a residential or commercial contractor with work experience in 3-phase 277/480-volt systems, and single phase 120/240-volt systems. Knowledge of DC circuitry would be beneficial to this position.
• MUST be able to work from ladders and work at a height that can exceed 20 feet.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
• Self-motivated.
• Safety minded.

Qualifications:

• 5 years Facility Maintenance experience required
• Active Universal HVAC EPA license preferred, not required
• Warm Air License preferred, not required
• CPO certification preferred, not required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to lift to 50 pounds or more
