Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to oversee a variety of pre-construction and construction tasks for TSPLOST projects involving maintenance, repair, reconstruction, and construction of city right of ways including local streets and infrastructure. This position will perform technical tasks by supervising and overseeing city projects. This supervisor/inspector will assist contractors in understanding and meeting city procedures and job specifications, preparing inspection reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. This position is funded through TSPLOST and non-guaranteed to be funded beyond TSPLOST II expenditures ending FY26.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this
position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as
necessary.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Associate degree or technical degree in construction related field; five years of experience in design,
construction, or inspection field; experience working with contractors and the general public; or any
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge,
skills, and abilities for this job.
Additional Requirements:
Requires a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Skills include thorough knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials and equipment
relating to public infrastructure construction. Ability to maintain accurate records, detect errors in
construction projects,
This position should have extensive knowledge of Georgia Department of Transportation
Standards and Specifications, as well as asphalt paving and road reconstruction practices.
General knowledge of engineering plans, specifications and drawings with ability to read and
interpret plans, specifications and to compare them with various aspects of construction in progress.
