PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The Burke County Board of Commissioners is seeking a candidate for Public Works Director. The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $110,000 DOQ. 

The Public Works Director is responsible for the development and maintenance of the public infrastructure of the County including the roads, bridges, drainage and rights-of-way. 

The Public Works Director reports directly to the County Manager and is a key member of the leadership team.

The position requires the successful candidate to meet the following qualifications:

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and/or a course of study related to occupational field

 

• Work experience in the role of Public Works Director, Construction Superintendent or related position
