Harris County, Georgia, with a population of 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta and 30 minutes north of Columbus, is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant for the County Administration Office.

This full-time, on-site position provides administrative and customer service support for departmental operations, other county employees, and the general public. Typical duties include:

  • Answers telephone and greets visitors
  • Picks up and delivers mail
  • Notarizes documents
  • Assists the finance staff with coding, entering invoices, and filing

High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred. Requires more than three years of related experience, excellent customer service skills, and a valid driver's license, knowledge of modern office principles/practices and computer skills or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.

The starting salary is $16.81 per hour, plus generous benefits including a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
