ENTRY SALARY:  $23.18 per hour, plus benefits

JOB SUMMARY:   This position is responsible for providing specialized support for the County's Human Resource functions. Processes Workers’ Compensation claims; serves as liaison between employees, Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier, Department Heads and/or Supervisors, Payroll Coordinator, and representatives from the County’s Panel of Physicians; completes WC-6 forms; calculates supplemental hours needed for employees receiving Workers’ Compensation benefits; processes all Worker’s Compensation related bills received by employees. Serves as the primary contact for employees requesting Family Medical Leave. Processes FMLA requests and maintains all FMLA related cases; acts as liaison between employees, Department Heads, Payroll Coordinator, and physicians; keeps record of and calculates intermittent and block FMLA leave hour entitlement. Provides guidance and explains the process to employees to ensure understanding of rights and responsibilities. Processes Donated Leave. Processes Leave of Absence requests. Assists with Military Leave. Reviews Sick Report for FMLA eligibility. Assists with processing Personnel Change Forms. Performs related and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
