Water Works Director – Harris County
Harris County, Georgia, population 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta, 30 minutes north of Columbus, and home to Callaway Resort and Gardens and FDR State Park, is accepting applications for a Water Works Director for the County. This full-time position, under the direction of the County Manager, supervises the water and wastewater functions consisting of four divisions: administration, filer plant, distribution, and wastewater. The department has 9,500 water customers, 27 full-time positions, and an annual budget of $8M.
This position will:
Minimum qualifications include at least five years of experience in the water and wastewater career field in a supervisory capacity, knowledge of water and wastewater management and Georgia EPD rules and regulations, employee supervision and development, budget preparation and control, computer skills, excellent customer service skills, and possession of a valid driver’s license. Prefer a Georgia water and/or wastewater treatment or distribution operator’s license or ability to obtain one.
The starting salary is $76,126.40 annually, plus generous benefits including a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
