The Public Safety Director will be the point of contact overseeing the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for the delivery of policing services in the City of Stonecrest by the DeKalb County Police Department. The Director will coordinate emergency response to natural and man-made disasters with DeKalb County Emergency Management (DEMA), Georgia Emergency Management (GEMA), DeKalb County Police Department, and other first responders.
The Director will develop an Emergency Operations Plan for the City of Stonecrest, coordinate a Hazards Mitigation Plan in cooperation with DEMA, and coordinate and monitor ambulance response times through the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department and their contract with a countywide ambulance service.
The Public Safety Director will coordinate and monitor response times from the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department, coordinate with DeKalb County 911 as needed, and provide security for the Municipal Court during sessions.
The Director will also participate in developing and implementing the City of Stonecrest’s long-range strategic plan to start the Stonecrest Police Department in the future.
