POSITION SUMMARY
The essential function of this position is to create and design insightful graphical illustrations that effectively enhance the City’s ability to communicate complex information to all of its stakeholders in an easily digestible manner.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Transform City briefs and reports into creative visual layouts to be presented in front internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan, design, and create graphics and visual layouts for monthly, quarterly and annual reports, brochures, magazines, billboards, the city website, maps, posters, banners, fliers, advertisements, logos, social media, and promotional items.
- Transform reports into visually appealing PowerPoint presentations.
- Develop 2D visual designs that incorporate vector graphics, web design, typography, illustrations, and video.
- Design and develop eye-catching event swag, event materials, and seasonal art for print and digital use.
- Create visually stunning motion graphics and animations for various digital media platforms. Use video software to design and implement captivating motion graphics projects.
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Suite with an emphasis on After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Prepares specifications for printers and works with internal and external printing and duplication services.
- A strong understanding of layout, typography, shape, and color work.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine art, illustration, product design, or a closely related field is preferred, but not required; and four (4) years of experience. Completion of an equivalent apprenticeship will be considered. Knowledge of Adobe Suite.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
May work an adjusted schedule for addressing system issues or assisting in events occurring after 5:00 p.m. such as meetings, or planned events.
