We are seeking a dedicated Records/GCIC Clerk to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of law enforcement records and information.

About the Role:

As a Records/GCIC Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of GCIC and NCIC databases, processing police reports, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain GCIC and NCIC databases, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Process and maintain police reports, citations, warrants, and other law enforcement documents.
  • Conduct background checks, criminal history checks, and other record searches.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, law enforcement officers, and other agencies.
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist the Municipal Court Department with cash bonds.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of clerical experience or five years of administrative experience.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must possess (or obtain within six months of hire) and maintain GCIC Basic Operator and NCIC Basic Operator certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal Agency Coordinator Certified.
  • Experience working in a law enforcement agency.
  • Associate's degree in information or records management, business management, or related field.

Work Schedule:

This position requires shift work, including nights and weekends, to support a 24/7 operation.
