Internship Title: Equity and Engagement Intern
Reports to: Equity and Engagement Director
Department: City Manager’s Office- Equity and Engagement
Availability: Temporary Part-time (up to 30 hrs/wk)
Compensation: $12-$15 per hour depending on qualifications
Purpose of Internship:
During this internship, the Equity and Engagement Intern can expand their practical knowledge of municipal communications and engagement as it relates to inclusive communications and engagement, equity, and public access. In addition to the professional experiences, the selected candidate will participate in the development of the City’s Racial Equity Action Plan and attend cross-departmental and community meetings.
Core Project
The intern will be responsible for assisting with a thorough examination of the city’s organizational structure and policies and practices, and setting goals toward progress to change policies, programs, and practices that may be perpetuating inequities. The Intern will also be asked to work with the city’s employee equity and inclusion team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with an interest in equity and inclusion.
