The City of Alma is accepting applications for the position of City Manager. Alma serves as the county seat of Bacon County.  The selected applicant will manage the daily operations of the government of the City of Alma. This position reports to a 5 person City Council and also a Mayor.  A successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of municipal government, utilities, human resources, finance, public safety, and budget processes.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include managing and directing all daily operational activities on the City through direct communication with department heads, ensuring the professional administration of all City affairs, ensuring that all ordinances, regulations and policies of the City and City Council are faithfully and equitably enforced to name just a few.

 

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 – 5 years of progressive public management experience and a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration or a related field or any combination of education and experience in an administrative capacity in local government.  A master’s degree in public/business administration or a related field is a plus

 

A thorough background check and drug test is required.  The salary will be DOQ. This position posting will be open until October 15, 2024.
