Position Announcement

 

The City of Duluth, Georgia is accepting applications for the position of full-time Maintenance Worker II in the Public Works Department.

Employees hired for this position perform semi-skilled manual work, which is performed alone or as part of crew, which may involve grass cutting, weed eating, pressure washing, trash removal, upkeep and cleaning of various outdoor properties and litter removal from roadways. Employees are required to perform heavy physical labor in all types of outdoor weather using a variety of tools and equipment.

This position requires working various days of the week (including many weekends), and various hours of the day, which are subject to change depending upon events.

A High School diploma, state-issued GED, or equivalent is required, with additional skill-related training/experience required.

Applicants with previous experience in similar public works type jobs, specifically landscaping and other outdoor maintenance tasks, are preferred. Applicants with CDL, Class B are preferred.

All candidates are subject to a background investigation, including criminal history, driving history, drug testing, and medical exams (including drug screening.)

Starting pay is $23.00 per hour
