Job Summary:

This position instructs gymnastics and/or tumbling classes and assists at gymnastics and/or tumbling events and provides safety and instruction to participants.

 

Major Duties:

• Instructs classes in the gymnastics and/or tumbling program including preschool, progressive, boys, cheer, tumbling, and dance.
• Provides safe and positive instruction to gymnasts and tumblers.
• Communicates with parents and participants.
• Follows the lesson plans.
• Evaluates participants using skill sheets to monitor progress.
• Attends instructor training after each session to review spotting techniques, skill progressions, etc.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the facility (e.g., trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting/wiping down counters, sinks, windows, toilets, mirrors, walls, etc.).
• Keeps supervisor up to date on students ready for advancement.
• Performs related duties.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Background in gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, or working with children. 
• Willingness to be trained to teach gymnastics safely and properly and/or tumbling programs. 
•   Skill in following instruction.
• Ability to read, write and communicate positively and professionally. 
• Ability to physically spot gymnasts and/or tumblers safely.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

The successful candidate must pass a Background/Reference Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
