Position Overview: As the Finance Manager, you will be integral in coordinating the annual budget process, providing direction and oversight to the Revenue Division, ensuring the accuracy of the city's bi-weekly payroll process, and conducting detailed financial analyses. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and participates in the preparation of the City's annual operating budget and provides staff support in the budget development process to ensure transparency and financial sustainability.
  • Maintain confidentiality while compiling and analyzing financial reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for audits, showcasing your meticulous attention to detail.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work plan for finance staff; assigns work activities, projects, and programs; reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of the City's bi-weekly payroll.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets versus actual reports for management review.
  • Analyze operational issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Create clear and engaging financial reports for diverse audiences.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of broad and extensive experience in accounting, finance, or related experience, including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Tyler, Munis, or similar ERP systems.

Certifications:

  • N/A

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and multitasking.
  • Knowledgeable of payroll principles and practices
